Bollywood Singer Shilpa Rao- First Indian to Perform at Coke Studio Season 9!
Bollywood Singer Shilpa Rao is the first Indian Singer to perform at Coke Studio Season 9. She met Ali Hamza (dou of Noori Band) and one of the producer of Coke Studio Season 9 at Delhi, India at lunch, sang a few songs together and decided to work along.
32-year old singer Shilpa Rao, has sung a number of blockbuster hit songs including Khuda Jaane, Malang, Meherbaan and SubhanAllah.
Noori explained their meeting with her as, “We heard her sing and just told her ‘You are coming to Lahore!’
According to Shilpa Rao, “Ali took it very seriously and got me there to record the song. It’s basically musicians bonding with each other. One song can make you friends for life- that is the power of music.”
Shilpa praised the Coke Studio Pakistan as a most equipped platform where musicians are free to choose the instrument of their choice, their space and to choose anything they like, with a freedom to convey their style, and it is very powerful. It’s is an ideal situation to make music. It’s a great place and she finds herself fortunate enough to be there. A very few people finds such an opportunity.
A fusion of folk or classic melody with western beats is what Shilpa has promised to give Coke Studios Season 9.
Coke Studio Season 9 with 6 producers and 30 artist is going to be released in August 2016.
