SUNDAY TIMES WEB DESK: Power hitter Asif Ali cut the wings of Imad Waseem-led Karachi Kings in a last over of their 162 run-chase in the first eliminator of the Pakistan Super League, as they beat Kings by four wickets at the National Stadium today.

Ali’s unbeaten 10-ball 24 played a pivotal role during the death overs while facing Muhammad Aamir, Usman Khan Shinwari and Aamir Yameen.

Alex Hales with his 41 off 42 balls, which included five boundaries and a six set up a solid base for United. The momentum was later carried ahead by Hussain Talat (32).

For Kings, youngster Umer Khan bowled sensationally picking up two wickets for 16 runs. Aamir Yameen also picked up two wickets. Usman Shinwari and Muhammad Aamir picked one wicket each.

The Sami-11 will now face Peshawar Zalmi in the second eliminator of the tournament.
