ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has submitted privilege and adjournment motions in the National Assembly against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s speech in the parliament.
PTI stated in its motions that the prime minister had lied while addressing the Parliament. He had claimed that he has all documents with regard to his businesses which will be presented at the proper time. However, his lawyer failed to produce authentic evidence to prove the money trail.
According to the motion, the prime minister had said in his speech in the parliament that the family sold Gulf Steel to purchase the apartments in London, while in Supreme Court they said that the Gulf Steel was running in loss.
PTI motions stated that not a single member of the family had discussed Qatari prince’s letter but they presented one in the hearing of the case in the apex court.
Tehreek-e-Insaf has requested the National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to adjourn the normal proceedings and to initiate a debate on the prime minister’s speech in the house.
Imran Khan had said on Tuesday that the purpose of ending the boycott of the parliament session was to submit two motions, one privilege and another adjournment motion, against the prime minister.
