Chief Justice inaugurates building of SC Quetta registry
QUETTA: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday inaugurated the building of the Supreme Court’s registry in Quetta, ARY News reported.
Speaking on the ceremony, the top judge urged the lawyers body that only construction of such buildings is not enough, ensuring the provision of justice is prime to the judiciary.
Expressing hopes that the new building will play its due role in delivering speedy justice to people, the chief justice also congratulated those “who made an effort to complete this project”.
Further, he underscored the significance of justice for the development of a society.
Justice Saqib Nisar will also hear different cases in the new building of the apex court in Quetta today.
Two days earlier, Chief Justice Saqib Nisar had taken a suo motu notice of the unavailability of clean drinking water in Bhag Nari area of Balochistan.
He had also sought replies from the advocate general Balochistan and the provincial chief secretary.
On December 12, the supreme judge will also visit drought-ridden Thar. He had directed the Sindh government to prepare for the arrangements in this regard.
It is worthwhile mentioning here that the death toll of infants in the area has jumped to 540 during last four months of the current year in the area.
