SUNDAY TIMES WEB DESK: West Indies beat Bangladesh by eight wickets in the first Twenty20 international in Sylhet on Monday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Sheldon Cottrell picked up a career best 4-28 as West Indies bowled out Bangladesh for 129 runs in 19 overs, before Shai Hope guided the visitors to 130-2 in 10.5 overs with his 55 off 23 balls.
Shakib Al Hasan earlier top-scored for Bangladesh at the Sylhet International Stadium with 61 off 43 balls.
Bangladesh and West Indies play two more T20 internationals in Dhaka this week.
