Sunday Times BEIJING: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing on Tuesday.
The foreign minister, who embarked on a four-nation tour on Dec 24, reached China after visiting Afghanistan and Iran. Senior officials of the Chinese foreign ministry welcomed him as he landed at Beijing airport.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, promotion of regional connectivity and other important issues.
A day earlier, FM Qureshi called on Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul where they discussed progress on the Afghan peace process.
“Issues of mutual interest, progress on Afghan peace abd reconciliation process and economic and trade issues between the two countries discussed,” Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said in a tweet.
