SUNDAY TIMES FAISALABAD: According to an announcement made by the varsity’s Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Iqbal Randhawa, “We are enriched in our culture, norms, and Islamic values. We are mulling a plan to distribute scarf, shawls and gowns printed with UAF insignia among female students on the day.”
“In our culture, women are more empowered and earn due respects as sisters, mothers, daughters and wife.” He said that we were forgetting our culture and western culture was taken root in our society. The vice chancellor said that nations, which forget their cultural values, were diminished from the map of the world.
He said that preservation of culture was essential to maintain our identity and dignity in the world. Talking to students, he added that the youth must be inclined and devote their energies towards their education and knowledge, adding that in the modern era, only knowledge based economies.
He also inaugurated the signage titled “I love UAF” established near Clock Tower of the university.
Talking about signage, he said that the initiative was aimed at promoting the affection and love for our alma mater. He said that the UAF will be more beautified and glorified with the showcasing of agricultural trends and practices depicting the colors of agricultural landscape
