KARACHI: Spokesperson for Sindh Rangers said on Monday that at least eight persons were taken into custody who were involved in different crimes and activities. The suspects were arrested during the search operation in various areas of Karachi.
The arrested suspects also included two extortionists and two members of a banned outfit, said the spokesperson while giving additional details about the suspects.
According to the Rangers official, the recent raids were held in Orangi Town, Korangi, Baldia, Gulberg and Shah Faisal areas of Karachi during which the arrests were made.
Among the arrested persons three belonged to MQM whereas two others were members of a banned group. Spokesman added that weapons were also recovered from them.
Police claimed that during the overnight search operation more than 30 suspects were arrested in PIB Colony in Karachi.
They said a majority of the detained persons were drug addicts.
