SUNDAY TIMES KARACHI:The SHC was hearing a case relating to controversial land allotment of 404 plots in Gulistan-e-Jauhar’s Block 6 petitioned by Steve Waqar and Abdul Latif Brohi and others.
NAB Director Tariq Hamid Soomro, who appeared in the hearing over SHC’s directives, has been directed to leave the courtroom for not providing his assistance in the case.
The CJ SHC Justice Sheikh was irked by the anti-corruption watchdog’s failure to provide detailed information regarding the land apportionment process.
Justice Sheikh has asked the NAB officer to brief the high court [in the case] and progress of investigation made by his institution.
However, Soomro failed to give any satisfactory reply to the CJ SHC Justice Sheikh.
“If you no information then what you are doing in the court. You should have leave the court room.” said the chief justice.
The high court asked petitioners and lawyers to submit reply in the case and directed NAB officials to apprise progress of investigation in next hearing.
Later, the hearing was adjourned till March 20.
