SUNDAY TIMES ISLAMABAD:Sharing a video clip showing snapshots from his four-nation visit, he wrote on his official twitter handle: “Shuttle Diplomacy: Reaching out to regional partners in order to foster greater understanding and cooperation between all stakeholders. Pakistan is committed to building a strong, connected and prosperous neighbourhood.”
His tweet comes on the heels of conclusion of his marathon four countries trips. The foreign minister returned home on Dec 26 on completion of his four-nation visit which took him to Kabul, Tehran, Beijing and Moscow where he met his counterparts and other high-ranking officials.
On the last leg of his visit, Mr Qureshi called on his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday. The two sides discussed bilateral ties, regional situation and Afghan peace and reconciliation process.
Speaking to media before his departure, Mr Qureshi had said Pakistan wants peace and stability in the region, adding that the objective of his visit is to take the friendly countries into confidence on recent developments in the region.
“We should understand each others’ problems and sit together to find solution to them,” the foreign minister said, adding that all forces of the region would have to take joint responsibility for the sake of lasting peace and development in the region.
