KARACHI: At least one suspect was killed in an alleged police shootout in Lyari area, in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Bilal alias Bhaiyya, wanted in at least 100 criminal cases, including murder and attempt to murder, was killed in a police shootout at Gao Godam area of Lyari, said DSP Zahid Hussain. He further added that narcotics and weapons were found from the deceased.
DSP Hussain claimed that the suspect was affiliated with the Uzair Baloch gang and his three associates, Mullah Sohail, Yousuf Pathan and Rehan Pathan managed to flee from the spot during the operation.
The head money on Bilal was Rs 1.5 million and was involved in more than 50 murders, claimed police.
Meanwhile, In New Karachi sector 11, two alleged fraudsters were nabbed by the police authorities. The detained suspects used to scam people by becoming law enforcement agents. Weapons, fake police uniforms and money were recovered from them.
In Gadap near superhighway, at least two activists of a banned outfit were apprehended by Sindh Rangers in a targeted operation.
