Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received Prince Mohammed at Cairo airport on what was the third leg of a tour through the Arab world by the prince after visits to Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
Prince Mohammed was expected to ways of strengthening bilateral relations with Sisi.
The crown prince is also expected to participate in a G20 meeting in Buenos Aires at the end of the month, which will be attended by leaders from the United States, Turkey and other European countries.
The killing of Khashoggi, a news paper columnist and a critic of Prince Mohammed, has strained Saudi Arabia’s ties with the West.
