Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has emphasized on seamless coordination between law enforcement agencies as well as among the provincial governments and the federal government to achieve optimum results within a short period of time.
While chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday to review the internal security situation and implementation of NAP, PM Nawaz said that we are in a state of war with an ideology that wants to change our way of life.
He stressed that the government is committed to take all necessary steps to ensure that blood spilled in Quetta carnage does not go waste. The meeting discussed at length the internal security situation of the country and different aspects of the National Action Plan.
The meeting observed that after achieving successful results from operation Zarb e Azb in FATA, terrorists are now changing their targets other than the state institutions out of desperation.
He expressed his resolve that we will make Pakistan secure from every kind of terrorism and extremism. He said the country has embarked upon a right track and we will enable every citizen to reap the benefits of a secure, stable and prosperous Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said that terrorists think that they can sow the seeds of disharmony and disunity in the nation. The nation is united and supports the government to stay on the course of completely eliminating the terrorists from Pakistani society.
Minster for Interior Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan and National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua briefed the meeting on how terrorist organizations are attacking soft targets.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Sartaj Aziz and Tariq Fatemi and other senior government officials.
Meanwhile, Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour called on PM Nawaz at PM House on Tuesday, where issues related to national significance and political situation were discussed. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is satisfactorily advancing towards a strong, economically vibrant and politically stable future.
PM said that the terrorists are attacking the pillars of democracy; their attack in Quetta is an indication that they hate and target every institution which is integral part of our polity. He further said that terrorists want to attack our state and society through their perverted ideology, the Prime Minister added.
They must know that as state and as government, the process of elimination of terrorism through Zarb-e-Azb and NAP is irreversible, the Prime Minister stated.
In this tragic moment, the entire nation is united with an unflinching resolve against terrorism and extremism, expressed the Prime Minister.
