SUNDAY TIMES ISLAMABAD :In a tweet referring to a complaint shared by a tweep over NAB action against provincial Director Archaeology and Museums, saying: “NAB brought the only PhD in Sanskrit, in Asia from Germany, a Fulbright scholar and a gold medalist in archeology, Dr. Samad, to court for employing low paid workers to ward off illegal excavations. What a shame! Why should anybody serve here!”

The PM wrote: “The NAB Chairman should take action against those in his institution who are responsible for this disgraceful act.”

Earlier in the day, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had arrested provincial Director Archaeology and Museums, Abdul Samad for misusing his authority.

A NAB statement said the accused made numerous appointments at different archeological sites in gross violations of rules.

In November last year, the NAB had started grilling the officials of the Directorate of Archeology and Museums during inquiries into the alleged replacement of artifacts with replicas and illegal appointments.

The NAB KP team had raided the Directorate of Archeology and Museums the same month, remained there for hours during the raid and questioned a number of officials at the two offices.
