SUNDAY TIMES ISLAMABAD:Addressing a function held in connection with International Women’s Day in Islamabad, he said the commission has made a special Gender and Disability Electoral Working Group to include women and marginalized groups in the elections.
“Pakistan is rapidly moving toward agenda 2030,” the chief election commissioner said.
He said the electoral body is working on the suggestions of the civil society to end gender discrimination during polling.
The function was attended by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) , civil society representatives, gender experts, Academia and other concerned departments.
Other speakers on the occasion lauded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)’s commitment and efforts to help close the electoral gender gap.
