NEW YORK: Hassan Rouhani, Iranian President, said that Iran wishes to become a partner in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

In a meeting with PM Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of 71st General Assembly session of the United Nations, Iranian President expressed Iran’s desire to become a Partner in CPEC.

The two leaders expressed their satisfaction over the progress in the construction of Pak-Iran gas pipeline and the bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries.

Nawaz Sharif also discussed about the violation of human rights by the Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir.

Sharif said that bilateral trade volume between the two countries will be doubled after economic sanctions lifted from Iran.

PM said that the success and strength of Pakistan and Iran is linked with each other.
