SUNDAY TIMES ISLAMABAD:The prime minister will launch the programme at a ceremony in Islamabad. The initiative was approved by the premier in a meeting with Dr. Sania Nishtar, chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme.

Under the programme, an amount of Rs 120 billion has been earmarked to alleviate poverty.

In a statement, PM Khan had earlier said the government was now taking the first major step towards eliminating poverty. “The care for people is the utmost priority of the government,” he stated.

“We will mobilise all resources to alleviate poverty.”
