SUNDAY TIMES ISLAMABAD:Chairing a meeting to review the progress on implementation of “Ehsas” Programme in Islamabad, the prime minister said the government wants to ensure complete transparency in all programmes, including Bait-ul-Maal so that the element of discretion could be eliminated.

He reviewed timelines for implementation of various policy actions under “Ehsas” programme, including Tahaffuz, Kifalat, Housing for orphans and destitute, nutrition, district development portals, and employment.

In a policy statement on Ehsas programme lately, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said Ehsaas’s poverty reduction strategy was articulated in four pillars and it currently embodied 115 policy actions, which may be expanded as the process of consultations on the program, further widened

In a tweet, he said his priority poverty reduction programme with its four focus areas and 115 policy actions will reduce inequality, invest in people, and uplift lagging districts.
