SUNDAY TIMES ISLAMABAD:The interest was expressed by a visiting Qatari delegation during talks with Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood.
During media talk, Abdul Razak Dawood said the talks with Qatari delegation focused on investment opportunities in power, infrastructure, tourism and agriculture sectors.
He said “Qatar sees Pakistan as an important place for its food security and we have expressed readiness for it,” adding that an action plan will be formulated after identification of areas by the middle eastern country for investment.
The adviser on commerce was confident that investment from Qatar will start pouring in Pakistan in next few months.
Responding to a question, Abdul Razak Dawood said the ministry of petroleum will also discuss with Qatar the import of additional LNG on long term basis.
Earlier in March, Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Mr. Ali Bin AhmedAl-Kuwari welcomed Pakistani investors to use their market for business both inside and outside Qatar.
During the Pakistan – Qatar Trade and Investment Conference, Kuwari asserted that Qatar was open to provide a platform to Pakistan investors.
