SUNDAY TIMES KARACHI: Officials of customs intelligence carried out a raid at the Cantonment Station during which they seized a vehicle loaded with goods.
Taking strong exception to the raid, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Railway Shehla Qureshi termed it illegal.
Customs official Irshad Shah accused the railway police of trying to create hindrances in their raid at the station. During the raid, a vehicle load with goods was taken into custody and investigation has been launched following the seizure, he added.
Qureshi, however, alleged the customs officials not only misbehaved with the policemen present at the station but asked the station house officer to stay away from it.
She maintained that the customs officials carried out the raid and took the goods into their custody without keeping the police station concerned in the loop.
