MARDAN: At least 6 people were killed and 40 got injured, some critically, when two bombs were blasted at District Kacheri this morning.
First attack was a suicide attack near the Kacheri gate followed by another bomb blast which took place when the attacker was stopped at the entrance gate.
Initial reports suggested that the bomber tried to enter court premises. Upon resistance from the security guard, the terrorist exploded his suicide vest.
The wounded have been shifted to the nearest hospital. Lawyers and citizens were among the casualties.
The incident occurred a few hours after an attack was foiled in Peshawar’s Christian Colony early Friday morning.
Police and rescue teams have been dispatched to the blast site while security forces have surrounded the area. Investigation teams arrived at the scene and have launched the probe into the incident.
