Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know that Deepika Padukone’s first ever Hollywood flick, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, is all set to release early 2017. Yes, the same movie in which she stars alongside Hollywood hottie Vin Diesel. And while she was filming for the movie in the US, she shared a lot of amazing pictures and videos from behind the scenes, and it looked like the actress was having a gala time with her co stars.

But according to a report in Pinkvilla, Deepika has now revealed that her journey in Hollywood “hasn’t been easy”. She also spoke about how she waited for the right offer to sign a Hollywood flick.

She said, “Initially, I didn’t feel like I was ready. I was offered films in the past too, but they just didn’t feel right. I have always followed my heart and my instinct.”

She also made a valid point, talking about how an actor’s religion, gender, or region shouldn’t be the factor dictating their getting a particular role.

She added, “The world is waking up to [new] talent. Having said that, it is all about whether an actor suits a role or not. An actor should be cast in a movie only if his or her talent brings something unique to the table. I don’t think an actor’s religion, gender, or the region he or she belongs to, should be the reason to sign him or her for a film.”

True that, Deepika!
